On the 6th May 2016, the Icebolethu Foundation hosted a Mother’s Day Tea for the elderly held at the Ntokozweni Village for the vulnerable in Port Shepstone, Izingolweni village.
The day was dedicated to the Home by the staff of the Icebolethu Group, where we provided a lunch for the elderly and with much needed essentials that were identified, such as 40 warm blankets and of course making the day extra special for the elderly with a pamper session, which included a foot spa for the 40 elders who reside in the Home.
Needless to say that the elders of the Home and not to mention the entire staff, were so grateful and in awe of our presence that day. A truly humbling and heart-warming experience, not only for our CEO, Nomfundo Mcoyi- who was also present on the day, but the staff of Icebolethu at large.
Brief Profile of the Home:
Ntokozweni village for the vulnerable is a non Profit, non political, Christian based Organisation to give love, care and support to the vulnerable people, namely: elderly and children. Ntokozweni has been sustaining itself by fundraising and donations from businesses, churches, individuals and income generating Projects. The home houses about +- 100 vulnerable children and 40 elders who have reached their stages of frailty and require full time care from caregivers at the Home.
Due to a number of economic challenges, the home is in constant need of support to sustain itself therefore the Foundation calls for support and for all that would like to partner to ensure the sustainability of this Organisation a long term possibility.
